Is there a ton of travel with Elite soccer? |
Locker Soccer Elite will stress localized play and minimize travel. |
| How much actual play time will my child get on the field? | Emphasize 50% playing time for all players. |
| My daughter would like to be on the same team as her friends. Can you guarantee this will happen? | Prioritize keeping friends together on teams whenever possible. This becomes more challenging as players move into older age groups and team selection is based on ability and development. |
| How do Parent Coaches sign up or volunteer? | Please indicate on your Registration Form that you are interested in coaching… we’ll take it from there! |
| When is Registration due? | This is kind of a tricky question. We would like to know who is committed before we figure out team configurations, however, some families may want to know which team their child will be assigned to before they pay. I'll try to have a better idea of how to handle this dilemma before we head into player assessments. |
| What league will we be playing in? | We plan on placing the teams in the MOSSL program. The folks at MOSSL have also indicated that they will be forming a localized (Northwest) division to handle those teams that are looking for less travel than some other current leagues. |
| What days will games be scheduled? | MOSSL assigns each age group two days per week for games. This is typically a weekday and a weekend day. MOSSL is moving to an eight (8) game schedule, so there will be weeks when a team has two games and some weeks where teams have only one game. We usually have 7-8 weeks to fit these 8 games into the schedule. Each team will have a representative attend a scheduling meeting and design a schedule that is best for that team. |
| Are there signups for the Assessments? | In order to run the assessments smoothly, it would help to have an idea of who will be coming. We will announce a method whereby families can let us know if they are attending… probably through email. |
| Do you have to attend both assessments? | No! Having said that, however, the more opportunity we have to assess each child, the easier and better our decision will be. |
| Will children from Olentangy be placed with other children from Olentangy… and the same for Dublin? | I think that makes good sense whenever possible. This will be easier to accomplish for our U8 and U9 groups, but certainly we will try to do it for the older players as well. Also, we would hope to be able to train these teams in Powell whenever possible as well. |
| What fields will we use for training and games? | Typically, we use Avery Park in Dublin for regular team training. We have also used a few parks in Powell for Individual Skill Training on Saturday mornings. Home games are played at Darree Fields in Dublin. |
| What is the winter training plan? | As always, we encourage 3v3 play during the off season. Locker Soccer will plan on hosting events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during the winter months. |
